The Diamond Cutter Sutra belongs to the collection of Buddhist scriptures known as the Perfection of Wisdom Sutras. Because of its relative brevity and conciseness it is popular in those countries that follow the Mahayana tradition of Buddhism such as China, Japan, Korea, and, of course, Tibet, where meny people recite it by heart as part of their daily prayers and reflections.
This wonderful scripture presents the view of emptinss and fervent encouragement to engage in the Bodhisattva conduct are the principal themes of the Perfection of Wisdom literature. In additional, many devotes have a strong faith in the protective qualities of reciting this scripture.
Therefore, I am very pleased to learn that a Polish translation of the Diamond Cutter Sutra has been completed and will be published as the first volume of a series entitled Bibliotheca Buddhica Polonica to coincide with the fourth anniversary of the launching of the Buddhist Book Project Poland. I offer my congratulations to the translators and all who have participated in this work, with my prayers that the project will bw successful in preparing Polish translations of other valuable and important Buddhist text in the future.
